I offer three services to help you with your fruit & vegetable garden - consultation, design and implementation.

Consultation

My consultation services help active gardeners invigorate an existing or fallow garden. Consultation is a three-part service: first, we meet by phone or in-person to discuss your garden and its challenges.  Second, I spend up to one to two weeks researching and preparing recommendations specific to your needs and challenges.  Lastly, I provide recommendations by email, and we discuss by phone.

• On-site gardening consultation (Hanover County, Virginia only) $75

Design

My design services include a hand-drawn fruit & vegetable garden template with dimensions, layouts, and variety recommendations.  I provide designs by email so you can refer to them - and replicate, modify or update them - whenever you need.  Designs are completed in three parts: first, we meet or talk to discuss your household's lifestyle and intended gardening involvement.  Second, I spend up to one month researching and designing your plan, incorporating influencing factors like your land's sun exposure, results of a soil test, neighboring garden influence, micro-ecology, micro-climate and human culture.  If you require permanent construction elements like fencing, gates, raised beds, a watering system, electricity, tool storage, a potting shed, greenhouse, hothouse, cold frames or other structures, I incorporate their design and cost estimates into your plan.  Lastly, I provide your plan by email, and we meet or talk again to discuss.

• Vegetable garden plan without construction elements $275

• Vegetable garden plan with construction elements $400

Implementation

I partner with architects, general contractors, plumbers, electricians, landscapers and nurseries to create vegetable garden spaces from your plans or mine.  Implementation services available by request.
